چکیده
Air pollution by particulate matter (PM) is one of the main threats to human health, particularly in large cities where levels are continually exceeded. According their source emission, geography, and local meteorology, pollutant particles vary size composition. These conditioned aerodynamic diameter thus classified as coarse (2.5–10 μm), fine (0.1–2.5 ultrafine (<0.1 degree toxicity becomes greater for smaller particles. can get into lungs translocate vital organs due size, causing significant health consequences. Besides, PM pollutants have been linked respiratory conditions, genotoxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic activity beings. This paper presents an overview emission sources, physicochemical characteristics, collection measurement methodologies, toxicity, existing control mechanisms (UFPs) last fifteen years.

Nanotechnology is a rapidly growing field having potential applications in many areas. Nanoparticles (NPs) have been studied for cell toxicity, immunotoxicity, and genotoxicity. Tetrazolium-based assays such as MTT, MTS, and WST-1 are used to determine cell viability. Cell inflammatory response induced by NPs is checked by measuring inflammatory biomarkers, such as IL-8, IL-6, and tumor necrosi...
متن کاملCurrent hypotheses on the mechanisms of toxicity of ultrafine particles.
PM10 is a complex mixture of particles and we have focused here on the ultrafine component, i.e. particles with a diameter of less than 100 nm. In PM10 this fraction is mostly composed of combustion-derived, carbon-centred particles with associated hydrocarbons and metals. Progress in understanding the effects of ultrafine particles in the lungs has been achieved largely through the use of surr...
متن کاملAir pollution ultrafine particles: toxicity beyond the lung.
BACKGROUND Ultrafine particles or nanoparticles (UFPs or PM0.1) are the fraction of ambient particulates with an aerodynamic diameter smaller than 0.1 microm. Currently UFPs are emerging as the most abundant particulate pollutants in urban and industrial areas, as their exposures have increased dramatically because of anthropogenic sources such as internal combustion engines, power plants, inci...
متن کاملAn Overview of Hydroelectric Power Plant: Operation, Modeling, and Control
Renewable energy provides twenty percent of electricity generation worldwide. Hydroelectric power is the cheapest way to generate electricity today. It is a renewable source of energy and provides almost one-fifth of electricity in the world. Also, it generates electricity using a renewable natural resource and accounting for six percent of worldwide energy supply or about fifteen percent of th...
